The Macedonian women's national football team has begun preparations for the first matches of the new qualifying cycle. This time, our team is part of League C in the World Cup qualifiers.<\/p>\n

With the start of this cycle, a new chapter in the history of the national team opens, as the squad led by Aleksandar Andov is dominated by female footballers who were part of the youth national teams that have achieved outstanding results in the past period.<\/p>\n

\u201c"The beginning of a new cycle of matches, but also a new chapter in the Macedonian women's national football team. This team is made up of players who were part of the under-17 and under-19 national teams, and there are also players who were previously part of the senior national team. The national team is dominated by players from the domestic championship. We are creating a new concept, we are creating a new team that will play together for a longer period. In this qualifying cycle, we have an ideal group to see how far we have come, but despite the fact that the team is completely rejuvenated and we have players in the team who will be part of the A national team for the first time, I am optimistic and believe that we can be better than Azerbaijan and Andorra," said coach Andov.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This generation faces new challenges and the opportunity to confirm the quality shown in the youth categories.<\/p>\n

\u201c"It's not the same to play in the junior national teams and in the senior team. In the A national team, the pressure is much greater. In those matches, the female players play against opponents of their own age, and in the senior competition you meet players who are older. However, I must emphasize that our young female players have a winning mentality, which they confirmed in their performances for the national teams under 17 and 19, where they managed to qualify for the elite stages and face the best national teams from Europe. I believe that these girls bring exactly what the senior national team was missing, a winning spirit and team play. I hope that this energy, combined with the more experienced female players who are part of the national team, will bring results and that this will be a team that we will certainly be proud of in the near future," continued the leader of the national team.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Macedonia has favorite status in the matches against Azerbaijan and Andorra and it is realistic to expect that two victories can be recorded at the start.<\/p>\n

\u201c"Our plans are to win six points in these two matches. We will go for victory in both duels and if we achieve our goal, we will be at the level we wanted to achieve in the previous two cycles. In the first one, we almost failed to qualify for the play-offs, and now I expect us to make that decisive step. This is a team that will be together for the next ten years, which means that we have the potential to make constant progress," Andonov noted.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The third opponent in this competition is Hungary, which is the highest-quality team in the group, but our players will certainly not raise the white flag prematurely and will try to cause a surprise.<\/p>\n

\u201c"Hungary is the main favorite to win first place in the group. However, I believe that with this selection we can be equal, especially if we take into account the control match with the Russian selection, when we showed that we can play with selections that are among the best in the Old Continent. With good preparation and maximum concentration on the field, I believe that in those matches we can be an equal opponent," concluded the head coach of the Macedonian women's national football team.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
