A valid goal by FC Shk\u00ebndija Tetovo was disallowed when the score was 0:0 in the 37th minute of the match. Namely, the visiting team\u2019s attacker was in an allowed onside position at the moment the ball was passed by his teammate. In accordance with the VAR protocol, the first assistant referee correctly allowed the play to continue, resulting in a goal, but then incorrectly signalled offside. The VAR referees began a review in accordance with the protocol and, because it was a tight offside situation, initiated the process of drawing the offside lines. They completed the line-drawing process incorrectly, failing to note that the last part of the attacker\u2019s body was not beyond the second-last defender of the home team. Unfortunately, under the Laws of the Game and the VAR protocol, it is incomprehensible how an experienced international referee could make a mistake in such an obvious situation, but refereeing errors have been, are and will remain an integral part of football.<\/p>\n

For such a key incorrect assessment, having failed to properly complete the process of drawing the offside lines in accordance with the VAR protocol, the VAR referees will be sanctioned for such a key error in accordance with the Regulations on Referees and Refereeing after the Refereeing Board completes its full analysis of the current round.<\/p>\n
