The Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM) informs the public that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne has fully rejected the appeals filed by FC Gostivar and Enes Usta and upheld the decisions adopted by the competent bodies of the FFM.<\/p>\n

The case concerns the sanctions imposed following the FC Gostivar\u2013FC Rabotni\u010dki match (29th round, 1 MFL, 2024\/2025 competition season), due to organisational shortcomings, the presence of unauthorised persons in the official areas, as well as the FC Gostivar team leaving the pitch. Within the proceedings before the FFM bodies, the club was imposed appropriate disciplinary sanctions, including a points deduction, while Enes Usta was sanctioned for his conduct and for inciting the events that led to the abandonment of the match.<\/p>\n

After reviewing the appeals, CAS in Lausanne concluded that the decisions of the FFM disciplinary and appeals bodies had been adopted in accordance with the applicable regulations, and that the sanctions imposed were appropriate and proportionate to the established violations. Accordingly, the appeals of FC Gostivar and Enes Usta were rejected, and the challenged decisions of the FFM were fully upheld.<\/p>\n

The CAS decision is of particular significance for the FFM, as this is the first case in which the Federation has successfully defended its decisions before the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne. It also confirms that the decisions of the competent bodies of the FFM are based on the regulations and principles of football law and are subject to independent international legal review.<\/p>\n

The FFM has also been involved in proceedings before CAS in the past. In 2011, the current president of the FFM, Masar Omeragi\u0107, won his case before the Court of Arbitration for Sport against the Federation's then leadership, after he had previously been suspended from football for life and thereby prevented from standing for election as president of the FFM.<\/p>\n

A decision was also issued against the Federation before CAS in the dispute with the former head coach of the A national team, Mirsad Jonuz, concerning unpaid contractual obligations from his role as head coach.<\/p>\n

Today's CAS decision in the case involving FC Gostivar and Enes Usta represents an important confirmation of the principle that football regulations must apply equally to everyone and that compliance with them is the foundation for protecting the integrity of the competition.<\/p>\n

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne is an independent international institution specialising in the resolution of disputes in sport, particularly appeals against decisions of sports federations and organisations.<\/p>\n

The decision issued by CAS in this case is final. CAS is the highest body for resolving such sports disputes, and there is no right of appeal against the decision in this case.<\/p>\n

The Football Federation of Macedonia will continue in the future to act consistently in accordance with its regulations, statutory provisions and the principles of UEFA and FIFA, with the sole aim of protecting the integrity of the competition, the rule of law in football and the equal treatment of all participants in football competitions.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
