The Refereeing Committee of the Football Federation of Macedonia analysed the key refereeing decisions from the matches in Round 10 of the First League and Round 8 of the Second MFL. The overall assessment is that the refereeing was at an excellent level, with the Laws of the Game applied correctly, good control of the matches and appropriate handling when making key refereeing decisions.<\/p>\n

It is particularly significant that, in several situations, the correctness of the decisions made directly on the field was confirmed, while in others, the initial decisions of the referees were corrected through proper and timely VAR interventions. This approach confirms the functionality of the VAR system, the professional cooperation between the refereeing teams and the consistent application of the established protocols.<\/p>\n

In the match between Shk\u00ebndija Arachinovo and Struga Trim Lum, in the 24th minute, following an initially unrecognised foul on the visiting team's attacker, the VAR referees intervened correctly and recommended an on-field review (OFR). After conducting the review, the referee correctly changed his decision, awarding a penalty and showing a direct red card to the defender for denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity (DOGSO). This situation is an example of a justified VAR intervention, with full respect for the protocol and correct application of the criteria from the Laws of the Game. The red card shown to the defender was also correct.<\/p>\n

In the match between Bashkimi and Sileks, in the 81st minute, following a VAR check, the home team's goal was correctly disallowed due to the offside position of player number 80 in the build-up to the goal. From an offside position, the player became involved in the action from which the goal was subsequently scored. This situation, which was by no means simple to assess, also confirms the importance of technology in reaching accurate final refereeing decisions.<\/p>\n

In the Arsimi \u2013 Tikvesh match, in the 23rd minute, the home team's goal was correctly disallowed due to an offside position.<\/p>\n

In the 74th minute, the on-field referees made the correct decision, as there was no handball by the visiting team's defender inside his own penalty area.<\/p>\n
