Football as a universal language of friendship, cooperation and inclusion was at the heart of the event „Touch the Goal – Football for Every Child“, organised by the „Idnina“ Primary School with a resource centre in Skopje, with the support of the Football Federation of Macedonia and the UEFA Foundation for Children.

""

The event was attended by students with typical and atypical development from seven schools in Skopje, Kumanovo and Kratovo: Primary School „Zhivko Brajkovski“ – Butel, Primary School „Kocho Racin“ – Petrovec, Primary School „Kocho Racin“ – Kratovo, Primary School „Imri Elezi“ – Chair, Primary School „Vasil Glavinov“ – Chair, Primary School „Kiro Gligorov“ – Centar and the Resource Centre „Idnina“ – Skopje.

Through joint football activities, the students, teachers and educational assistants sent a strong message about the importance of inclusion, peer support, team spirit and equal opportunities for every child. The exhibition football activities gave the children an opportunity to socialise, cooperate and form new friendships, confirming that there is a place for everyone on the football pitch.

The director of the Resource Centre „Idnina“, Loreta Andreевска, stressed that the main aim of the project is to enable children to play together, get to know one another, cooperate and build new friendships.

„We believed that football could be much more than a sport. Through the game, children naturally learn to respect one another, help each other, encourage one another and be part of a team. For us, this is not just a football match, but an opportunity to show that inclusion is not merely something we talk about, but something we create together, through participation, mutual support and acceptance,“ Andreевska said, expressing her gratitude to FFM and the UEFA Foundation for Children for their support, as well as to all the schools, teachers, specialists and collaborators involved in implementing the project.

Supporting such initiatives is part of the Football Federation of Macedonia’s commitment to promoting social inclusion and creating opportunities that will enable every child to be part of the football game.

Irena Bakrevska Miloshevska, FFM’s social sustainability manager, highlighted the importance of support and equal opportunities for all children.

„We are very happy to be here with you today, and at the same time proud that the Football Federation of Macedonia and the UEFA Foundation for Children supported this project, which opens up more opportunities for children to play football, socialise and share moments together. We believe that football is at its best when everyone has the chance to get involved, be accepted and feel like part of the team. Only when we give every child the opportunity to participate are we all winners,“ said Bakrevska Miloshevska.

In recognition of their participation, effort and dedication throughout the project, all the students were awarded medals. The most important prize, however, was the joy of playing, the shared moments and the new friendships.

„Touch the Goal – Football for Every Child“ once again confirmed that football is much more than scoring goals and achieving results. It is a space for acceptance, support and togetherness, a place where every child deserves the opportunity to play, belong and be part of a team.
