The Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM), through the Referees' Board, in the period from December 20 to 22, 2025, organized a specialized seminar for young, talented and promising head and assistant referees from the regional third leagues.
\nA total of 22 referees and assistant referees participated in the seminar, nominated by the referee boards of the regional leagues, according to previously clearly defined criteria and competencies that each candidate must possess.<\/p>\n
The seminar is conceived as an intensive and fully integrated educational program, the main goal of which is to improve the knowledge, skills and professional standards of young referees, through a modern approach to education and practical work. The activities were implemented interactively, through several theoretical educational sessions on the Rules of the game of football, analysis of specific situations, discussions, as well as practical examples, with the aim of correct interpretation and consistent application of the Rules.<\/p>\n
Special emphasis was placed on physical fitness, as one of the key prerequisites for successful, safe and quality performance of refereeing tasks in matches. In this regard, the program envisages the implementation of several structured fitness sessions, control and diagnostic tests, as well as practical activities on the field, aimed at developing and maintaining endurance, speed, agility and specific movements arising from the dynamics of the football game. Additionally, through individual measurements of physical parameters, each referee is provided with professional and specific guidance for optimizing the training process, preventing injuries and maintaining a stable level of physical fitness throughout the season, in order to ensure continuity and compliance with the prescribed fitness standards.<\/p>\n
For the first time, the FFM Referees' Board also conducted a fully digitalized testing of knowledge of the Laws of the Game, which included a theoretical test and a video test with situations. The testing was carried out through a specially developed mobile application, with each candidate immediately after completing the tests gaining insight into their own results through their individual profile. This innovative approach represents a significant step towards the modernization and digitalization of referee education.<\/p>\n
The seminar participants were warmly welcomed by the presence of Goran Pandev, sports director of the national teams.<\/p>\n
What is really worth noting is that this form of organized and structured seminar for young and promising referees is being held for the first time in more than 20 years, which once again confirms the clear strategic determination of the Football Federation of Macedonia to continuously invest in the development of refereeing, raising the quality and building high professional standards for work, thus the FFM, through the Referees' Board, remains committed to creating a strong, educated and professional refereeing organization.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
