Macedonia Under-15 part of the World Cup in Baku in FIFA’s new 7+1 format

Macedonia's U-15 national team (2011 generation) will participate in the 7+1 World Championship competition in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 22 October to 1 November 2026.

The new FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival 2026 competition is an innovative FIFA project dedicated to youth football. It is played with 7 outfield players + a goalkeeper, and players born in 2011 and 2012 are eligible to participate. Matches last 40 minutes (two 20-minute halves with a 5-minute break). In this format, the pace is increased through unlimited („flying“) substitutions, taking a throw-in with the foot (kick-in) and an offside rule that applies only in the zone 23 metres in front of the goal line.

Our young hopefuls will play 5 matches in the group stage, with the possibility of qualifying for the final, i.e. knockout stage of the tournament. The matches will be played at the Hovsan complex in Baku.

Macedonia national team head coach Goran Stankovski will count on the following players for the matches in Baku, Azerbaijan:

Goalkeepers: Mario Stojkovski (New Star), Maksim Gjorevski (Vienna FC);
