The Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM) is holding its Regular Electoral General Assembly today.
Present at the Assembly are 65 out of a total of 66 delegates from the Municipal Football Associations and the clubs within the competition system of our federation.
The current president, Masar Omeragić, is the only candidate in the Electoral Assembly for a four-year term at the head of the FFM.
In his speech at the beginning of the working session, the head of Macedonian football referred to the situation he found since he took over as head of the federation on December 22, 2024.
Masar Omeragic – President of FFM:
"Today,
after almost three months of taking office as president of the Football Association
Federation of Macedonia, I stand before you with an obligation to address you openly,
honest and responsible.
Aware
I knew that great challenges awaited me, but the current situation in
the federation was more complicated than expected.
Important
is to talk transparently about the financial situation, because every stable
and a successful organization must rely on responsible management of
the funds.
Fact
is that in the past two years the federation has had more expenses than
revenues. This is a serious challenge that indicates the need for better planning,
greater control and a clearer financial strategy. Only in real operations,
The federation is in the red by one million euros.
The football
academy, which should be the heart of the development of our sport, was facing
with serious challenges – inadequate working conditions, unproductive costs and
A budget that has been breached. Without a clear strategy and without real support for young talents.
Youth
categories, which are the basis of every representation, did not have sufficient support and
a clear long-term development plan. Better organization is needed, as well as more
resources for their progress.
Additional
The condition of the administrative building, which needs to be renovated, was also a problem.
symbolizes the seriousness and professionalism of the federation. We faced
challenges in employee relations, which further affected the
operational efficiency.
From
Of particular importance is the issue of infrastructure investment funds.
The funds earmarked for these projects have been spent by 2028, but
the results are not at the expected level. A large part of the investments were directed
towards projects that are not yet fully functional, and the stadiums and fields, which
should have been improved, they still do not offer adequate conditions for clubs and football players.
However,
During this period, we also had a bright spot – our A national team, which brought us
pride and proved that with teamwork and faith in our own qualities we can
to achieve great results. Their success should be an incentive for
improving the entire football system, from the youngest categories to the highest
level.
But,
Instead of looking back to the past, it is our duty to look forward and
We are working to improve the situation. We are already taking concrete steps:
•
Financial audit of all projects to date, in order to ensure greater
transparency.
•
A new strategy for infrastructure investments, focused on real needs
of the clubs, which are training grounds and match grounds, especially in the First and Second Leagues.
•
Strict oversight of the spending of funds to ensure that investments
they go into real projects that will bring long-term results.
Time
is to set new standards in our operations. Our goal is to build
a federation that will be stable, transparent and committed to the progress of
Macedonian football. This is not an easy process, but it is necessary.
Before
It's a lot of work for us, but I assure you – the federation will no longer be a symbol of
disorganization, but an institution that will work professionally and in the interest of
Macedonian football.
The Macedonian
"Football deserves it!"
