Vardar are the new champions of Macedonia! The „Red-Blacks“ triumphed 0-1 away to Struga TL today, claiming their 12th title since independent Macedonia. The most decorated Macedonian club needed just one point to definitively confirm their championship triumph, but Goce Sedloski’s team are leaving with all three.
Vardar took the desired lead as early as the fifth minute. A cross was sent towards Cvetković, while Rochi had a misunderstanding with the goalkeeper. The Struga TL player tried to shield the ball, thinking Angeletti would collect it, but Cvetković took advantage, beating Angeletti with his first touch to put Vardar ahead.
Vardar also had a chance to double their lead, but Angeletti saved Zakarić’s efforts twice and prevented Struga TL from falling two goals behind.

The second half was played at a slower pace. Vardar tried to neutralize Struga TL’s attacks. Maleski had the biggest chance in the 70th minute, when Taleski parried Faal’s shot into the path of the unmarked Maleski, who produced a weak effort from close range. Taleski saved again and prevented the hosts from celebrating. Maleski had another chance, but Vardar’s goalkeeper saved once more.
Maleski had the final chance of the match once again, attempting a header, but sending the ball just over the bar as Struga TL failed to find an equalizer.
Thus, Vardar brought the match to an end with a „clean sheet“ and a victory that sparked great celebrations among the „Red-Blacks“, who have reclaimed the championship title in the PMFL after six years.
