The derby match in Gostivar ended without a winner, although three goals were scored, all of which were disallowed following VAR intervention for offside.
In the 8th minute, we saw the first serious threat when Krasniqi struck powerfully from 16 metres, but the visiting goalkeeper was in the right place. Two minutes later, Arbin Zejnulai delivered an excellent cross, but Ndzengue missed a colossal chance from just five metres. Vardar responded through Najdovski, whose header went straight into the hands of Bubacar Gaye.
In the 24th minute, Zejnulai attempted to lob the advancing Taleski from the halfway line, but was unsuccessful, while at the other end Gaye produced a superb save to deny Danev's shot from 18 metres.
The biggest excitement came towards the end of the first half. In the 31st minute, Ndzengue finally found the net, but following a VAR review, the goal was disallowed for offside. Just before the break, the same player once again beat the offside trap and lobbed Taleski, but the ball went just over the crossbar.
The second half began with a chance for Meliqi, who headed wide after Krasniqi's cross, while Vardar responded through Jankulov, whose shot went wide.
In the 53rd minute, Zakariq tried powerfully from the left side, but Gaye was safe. The most controversial moment of the match came in the 55th minute, when Shkendija called for a penalty following a duel between Zakariq and Manev in the penalty area, but the referee simply waved play on.
Several more dangerous attacks followed towards the end of the match. Shkendija threatened through Trumçi from 20 metres, while Vardar responded through Najdovski with a header and Danev, who missed from an excellent position 11 metres out. In the 84th minute, Gaye had to intervene again after Pires' powerful shot to prevent a goal, while a minute later Danev missed another great chance for the visitors when he shot wide from inside the penalty area.
In the 88th minute, following the quick counter-attack started by Spahiu, Vardar scored through Danev. However, after a VAR review, the goal was disallowed. The visitors found the net again in the 96th minute, when Spahiu crossed into the penalty area and Pires scored into the home net. Nevertheless, following another VAR intervention, offside was given, so the match ended without a winner, in a 0:0 draw.
