Macedonia’s senior national team continues preparations for the next challenge, the away match against the Republic of Ireland on 31 March in Dublin. Following the match against Denmark, the national team players are focused on correcting their mistakes and improving their form ahead of the new clash.
Ljupcho Doriev believes that the team played a quality first half against Denmark, but that one unexpected moment changed the course of the match.
„I think we played a very good first half against Denmark, but then a quick and unexpected goal happened. It came right at the start of the second half and destabilised us somewhat. It was clear that we went into shock and experienced a brief lapse in concentration, which the opponent took advantage of. They are a quality national team, but as far as we are concerned, we are moving forward.
We have a match against Ireland ahead of us and we need to look forward, with our heads held high and the atmosphere at the highest level. I believe good matches await us. This is only the beginning. The match against Denmark was the first with a new head coach, a new vision and a new approach. We have quality; we just need to put it all together,“ Doriev said.
