The Macedonian futsal national team has triumphantly begun preparations for the World Cup qualifiers.
The team of coach Gazmend Hysejini recorded victories in the two friendly matches against the Austrian national team that were played in Gevgelija. In the first we won 5:3, and in the second we triumphed 4:2.
“"We played two excellent matches. The opponent was of exceptional quality and I am satisfied with what the players showed. I gave a chance to all the players I had at my disposal. There were several young players in the squad who played for the first time for the national team. When everything is taken into account, I am personally satisfied with the entire team in these two friendly matches against the Austrian national team," said coach Hysejini.
In both matches, our national team achieved victory despite the fact that the opponent had the advantage. In the first match, Austria led 3:0, and in the second it had a 1:0 lead.
“"In the first match, the team came in a little relaxed. We allowed the Austrians to easily score goals, but in the second half the players had maximum access and everything we agreed on during the break they implemented on the field and we achieved victory. In the second match, Austria took the lead with a goal from a free kick, but after just a few minutes we took control of the result, but also of what was happening on the field. I must emphasize that I am satisfied with the performances of the young players who were at a high level in these two matches and confirmed that they deserved to be in the national team", continued the coach.
These two matches are the beginning of the preparations for the World Cup qualifiers. Can we hope that this squad can find itself in one of the first two places in the group?.
“"The qualifying tournament is played in April and I think we have a great chance of passing the first hurdle and finding ourselves in the main phase. Our direct competitor for first place will be the host Lithuania, and I expect victories in the matches against Turkey and Bulgaria. We should not underestimate any opponent, but I still think we are better than the last two teams," concluded Hysejini.
