"I have experience that says that there are problems in every new implementation in any country, even in large countries. However, I am sure that everything that can be done by the Federation has been done and that is proof that everything will be in order. Certain mistakes will certainly happen. The VAR system is not something that, contrary to what people think, will eliminate all mistakes. There are situations that remain at the discretion of the referees and VAR judges. That is why we are working on this very thing, to keep that percentage of subjectivity as low as possible, based on the criteria prescribed by FIFA and UEFA."
"A complex system like VAR requires adaptation of the infrastructure, the technical equipment of the stadiums. I watched how the VAR rooms are being operated in the VAR center, in the Federation building, and what I saw convinces me that this will be one of the most modern VAR rooms in Europe. That part, technically, is slowly coming to a high level, necessary for the VAR system to function."
"The final product is ultimately created by the referees. That is the result of the entire project. If the decision is correct, everyone is satisfied. If it is not, there will be dissatisfaction. But it is important to know that VAR will certainly improve Macedonian football. The league will be more interesting, the broadcasts more diverse and technically clearer. We will also work with the cameramen, it is not the same to film a match with or without VAR. And that is one segment where there will certainly be progress."
"VAR is just one segment that will monitor positive developments in Macedonian football and that is certain. Mistakes will happen, there are no dilemmas here, but major, scandalous refereeing decisions with VAR should not happen. If the referees apply the VAR protocol, the rules of the game and the instructions from FIFA, UEFA and the FFM Refereeing Commission, I am sure that they will improve the quality of their decisions. Clubs will have equal conditions, and football will be cleaner."
"The selected group of referees is high-quality, top-level referees in the country. Some have greater on-field refereeing abilities, others show potential as VAR referees. These are two completely different roles. The on-field referee decides on a first impression. The VAR referee, although he may have that first impression, must review the situation from multiple angles and assess, based on the criteria, whether the decision is a clear and obvious error or not."
"I told them at the first training sessions: in much larger federations, I mean the top ten leagues in Europe, referees do not have these conditions. That's why they have to give their maximum here. The support from the head of the federation is a huge thing. Without it, referees cannot give what is expected of them. Now, the responsibility is on them to return with quality decisions."
"The President of the FFM not only provided us with everything we needed, but he came personally on two occasions, unexpectedly, to see how the process was going. That is a strong message and great support for all of us who are working on the implementation of VAR in Macedonia. I sincerely believe and am sure that with the results we will justify the trust and opportunities given to us."
