Macedonia U15 were defeated 4:1 by Albania in the first of the two friendly encounters between the two teams.
In the match played in Korçë, our representatives had the first chance to score when, in the 12th minute, following Mustafa’s pass, Hristov shot wide of Albania’s goal.
In the 22nd minute, the hosts took the lead through Aljbon Qoray.
Eight minutes later, Hristov again had an opportunity to get on the scoresheet, but this time his effort was saved by goalkeeper Valerio Alaj.
In the 40th minute, Albania took a 2:0 lead, with Samuel Prendi scoring the goal.
Five minutes into the second half, Dragan Petkov beat the opposing goalkeeper and reduced the hosts’ lead to 2:1.
However, just seven minutes later Albania scored its third goal, with Qoray the scorer, completing his hat-trick after finding the back of our net for the third time in the 60th minute, for a final score of 4:1.
Until the end of the match, Macedonia had a chance to score a second goal, but following Jovan Janchevski’s assist, Borjan Kostovski’s effort was saved by the opposing goalkeeper.
The national team will play the second friendly match against Albania on Wednesday, 24 June, in Ohrid. Kick-off is scheduled for 11:00, and the match will be played at the Biljanini Izvori Stadium.
