The final two matches of the 26th round of the First Macedonian Football League are being played today. At the stadium in Gjorche Petrov, Makedonija GP host Arsimi in a clash that will directly decide the battle for survival in the elite division.
Experienced goalkeeper Riste Jankov believes this is just another important match, but not the season finale.
“I would not say that it is a final for us. An important match for Makedonija GP, just like any other. Important points for both us and Arsimi in the battle for survival in the First League.”.
”I sincerely hope that things at Makedonija GP will soon be sorted out and that this club will get back on a sound footing. It will compete for the highest positions, as it once did,” stated Riste Jankov.
Makedonija GP currently have 23 points and sit second from bottom in the standings, while Arsimi are in a somewhat better position, sitting ninth with 29 points.
