Kolev: Let’s play at the highest level and be on equal terms with the favored opponents

The U17 national team is part of the elite qualifying round for the European Championship. Following their excellent performances in the previous round, the squad led by head coach Vlatko Kolev faces new, major challenges.

At the tournament to be held in Slovenia, our prospects will face exceptionally tough opponents, as in addition to the match against the hosts, we will also meet the teams of Germany and France.

“Qualifying for the elite round of the European Championship qualifiers is in itself a great achievement for this generation. Despite the fact that we have exceptionally tough opponents, we will try to cause a surprise, and our goal is to win as many points as possible. At the tournament, we will face the giants of European football, Germany and France, as well as the hosts, Slovenia. I believe that the players who will feature at this tournament will perform at the highest level and that we will be on an equal footing in the duels with the favoured opponents. The boys are fully prepared for the challenges ahead, and I believe that the three upcoming matches will be another great experience for this talented generation,” Kolev said.

Our first opponent in the qualifiers is Germany, with the match to be played tomorrow, with kick-off scheduled for 16:00. On the 28th, at the same time, we will face France, while on the 31st we will play the hosts, Slovenia.
