The Macedonian U19 national football team suffered its second defeat in the qualifiers for the Elite Phase of the European Championship. The tournament's host, Portugal, won 4:1 against Portugal.
The strong Portuguese team once again confirmed its quality and was a formidable opponent for our young hopes in front of the home crowd.
In the first half, Patrao, Silva and Soares scored for our goal. After the break, Trovisko increased the lead to 4-0, after which Macedonia managed to reduce the deficit through Vardar player Emir Šabotic, who scored in the 71st minute.
This was Macedonia's second defeat, after the opening match against Belgium. Our team will conclude the qualifying cycle with a match against Estonia, which has so far played two draws, against Portugal and Belgium (1:1).
