Masar Omeragic: Strong opponents, but a real test for Macedonia

The draw for the fifth edition of the League of Nations brought a serious challenge to the best Macedonian national team. In the group from segment B we will face the teams of Scotland, Switzerland and Slovenia. After the draw in Brussels, the president of the federation, Masar Omeragic, shared his impressions.

„"It's nice to see Macedonia in such company again, among strong national teams. Objectively speaking, we drew strong opponents. Switzerland and Scotland, national teams that have already qualified for the World Cup, and Slovenia, which is also a quality team. But in the B segment, all the opponents are strong. However, Macedonia has already shown many times that it knows how to play best against strong rivals, so I expect us to be at a high level this time as well, and the fans to enjoy the matches.".

We believe in the coach, we believe in the players and they will have maximum support to achieve all their goals. We need to go step by step. There is no need to run away from strong opponents. Quality is proven precisely in matches like this, with character and desire. This group will allow us to clearly see what our real possibilities are and where we are in relation to the best.

"If someone wants us to play only in Division C or D to win, that's deceiving ourselves. For footballers, such matches should be enjoyable, but also a real test. In such duels, you become a footballer. In this group, we really need to see how much we are worth.".
