As part of the 10th round, Shkendija from Tetovo will visit Skopje. The „red-and-blacks“ defender, Anes Meliqi, stresses that the team needs greater self-criticism, admitting that the two points dropped in the 1-1 draw against Shkendija from Arachinovo were a major disappointment.
„Of course, we have to be more self-critical because we disappointed the fans against Shkendija from Arachinovo. Speaking as the home side, we should have settled the match in our favour earlier, given our dominance and the chances we created. Nevertheless, credit must also be given to the opponents, who came with an excellent game plan. But this is a long championship – we must learn from our mistakes, and I believe we will quickly improve our play in the next matches,“ Meliqi told the official website of the Tetovo club.
The Macedonian international believes that Shkendija must go all out for victory in every match, regardless of the circumstances.
„Fortunately for us, our rivals were also making mistakes alongside our slip-ups. But we have to take it match by match, win and increase the points gap. We have conducted a detailed analysis and there is only one objective – three points! It does not matter whether we get them through attractive football, building attacks from the back, on a good pitch or in the mud… The only thing that matters is the final result and the victory,“ Meliqi stated emphatically.
A major handicap for the Tetovo „red-and-blacks“ will be the absence of Drilon Islami, who suffered an injury in the match against Shkendija Arachinovo and will be sidelined for a certain period.
This will be the 21st match between Skopje and Shkendija Tetovo. The record is considerably in favour of the Tetovo side – 16 wins for Shkendija and 4 draws.
The match between Skopje and Shkendija Tetovo will be played at the stadium in the Avtokomanda neighbourhood of Skopje, starting at 14:00, with Stojanche Stojanov appointed as the referee.
