Victory over Turkey for progression to the next stage of the World Cup qualifiers

Following the 6:3 triumph over Turkey, the futsal national team of Macedonia secured a place in the main round of the qualifiers for participation in the World Cup.

The Macedonian internationals opened the match brilliantly and held a 3:0 lead midway through the first half.

Coach Gazmend Hisejini’s players scored the first goal after just 91 seconds of play, with Taulant Ismaili the scorer. In the ninth minute, Toni Kirevski made it 2:0, while in the 12th, Burak Ugurlu put the ball into his own net to give Macedonia a 3:0 lead.

In the 18th minute, Umur Agir reduced the deficit to 3:1, but just two minutes later Mario Blagojevski got on the scoresheet to restore the 4:1 advantage.

After taking a commanding lead, our players relaxed, and the opponents took advantage, scoring twice through Burak Ugurlu in just around twenty seconds to reduce the deficit to 4:3.

However, this served as a signal for the Macedonian internationals to raise their game to the highest level once again, which resulted in two more goals for a convincing victory.

In the 33rd minute, Jakup Ramadan increased the lead to 5:3, while a minute and a half before the end of the match, Kirevski scored again for the final 6:3 and secure qualification for the second round of the World Cup qualifiers.

Our opponent in the final round is tournament host Lithuania, and we need at least a draw to finish in first place.

The match will be played on Sunday, starting at 16:00.
