Tomorrow, at 17:00, the new season in the Second MFL begins with the first round matches. Predictions are that the 2025/26 competition season will be one of the most uncertain. Starting next season, the Second MFL will have two fewer teams, and the system of moving up and down the league has also been changed.
This season, only the champion enters the elite football association in Macedonia. The second and third-placed teams will play a play-off for entry into the First MFL. The four last-placed teams leave the league directly, and the teams from 9th to 11th place play a play-off for survival in the Second MFL with the champions of the Third Leagues.
It is expected that Bregalnica from Shtip is the biggest favorite for first place, among the teams that will fight for promotion to the First MFL are Belasica, Skopje, Shkendija Aracinovo and Detonit Plachkovica, but all the others certainly have the ambition to place as high as possible, but also to avoid moving to a lower rank.
