The Department of Security and Integrity at the Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM) held a workshop in Ohrid with the security commissioners from the First and Second MFL, as well as with representatives of the Ministry of Interior (Uniform Police Department and Criminal Police Department), representatives from the Public Prosecutor's Office Skopje and the Public Prosecutor's Office Gevgelija, the presidents of the competition and disciplinary commissions, as well as professor Marjan Gjurovski from the Faculty of Philosophy.
The seminar included separate meetings of the Security Commission, a meeting with the Uniformed Police Department, and a joint meeting with the Criminal Police Department and representatives of the Public Prosecutor's Office. The meetings discussed ways to enhance cooperation, improve communication, and strengthen coordination mechanisms for more efficient functioning.
The representatives present at the workshop had the opportunity to hear presentations by the Department of Security and Integrity, representatives of the Ministry of Interior, Professor Marjan Gjurovski, as well as the presidents of the FFM competition and disciplinary commissions. The participants gave positive assessments of the initiatives to improve mutual communication and cooperation, as well as the proposal to establish working groups to work with fan groups and for possible amendments to the legal frameworks related to sports in the area of safety, security and protection of integrity.
The two-day seminar unequivocally emphasized that the Football Federation of Macedonia will apply zero tolerance to any form of nationalistic chanting, hate speech and insults at football matches, with consistent application of disciplinary measures and coordination with the competent institutions. At the same time, the Federation will continue with intensified activities in detecting and sanctioning match-fixing, through enhanced cooperation with security authorities and the prosecution, in order to fully protect the integrity and regularity of football matches.
