Sasho Danevski appointed head fitness coach of UEFA’s elite referees

The Football Federation of Macedonia is particularly proud to announce that our national fitness coach for football referees, Sasho Danevski, has been UEFA officially appointed as the chief fitness coach of Europe’s elite referees.

With this appointment, on 1 July Danevski will assume responsibility for the physical preparation, monitoring and development of UEFA’s elite referees, as well as a leadership role in coordinating the fitness coaches from UEFA’s 55 member national associations.

In recent years, Danevski has continuously and dedicatedly built his international career within the UEFA system. His professional journey began as an assistant coach at courses for young and talented referees, followed by active participation in summer and winter seminars for elite referees, the Talent & Mentor programme, as well as independently leading several monthly courses and specialised training activities.

At three consecutive workshops, Danevski was engaged as an instructor for national fitness coaches, while his expertise was also confirmed through his involvement in the two major European competitions, UEFA EURO 2024 and UEFA Women’s EURO 2025, where he was part of the tournaments through to their conclusion.

For some time now, Danevski has been responsible for individual analyses of seminars conducted with Europe’s best referees, match analysis, as well as the preparation and implementation of complex training content aimed at making refereeing decisions under pressure and in conditions of high physical intensity.

To date, Sasho Danevski has directly participated in the successful delivery of 33 UEFA seminars and workshops, while as an expert of the Football Federation of Macedonia he has also been engaged in conducting national seminars in Switzerland, Serbia, Montenegro and Saudi Arabia.

This appointment represents enormous recognition for Danevski, but also for the Football Federation of Macedonia, the Macedonian refereeing organisation and the professional staff that is increasingly establishing itself at the highest European level.

Of particular importance in this process is the continuous support that the refereeing organisation of the Football Federation of Macedonia receives from the president of the FFM, Masar Omeragic. With a clear vision, an open approach and full institutional support, the head of Macedonian football enables uninterrupted progress, professional development and the creation of conditions for advancing the refereeing workforce at national and international level. This approach represents an important foundation for further positioning the Macedonian refereeing organisation within European football structures.

The Football Federation of Macedonia congratulates Sasho Danevski on this outstanding professional recognition and wishes him every success in his new and responsible role within the UEFA system.
