No one expected the leader in the domestic First MFL, the Vardar team, to enter a playing and results crisis during this period, but that is exactly what happened. The relegation from the Macedonian Cup, where Vardar defended the title from last season, the draw in Struga against Trim Lum, as well as the defeat in the big derby against Shkendija on their home field, created unrest in the camp of the "red-blacks".
The point difference between Vardar and Shkendija has now been drastically reduced, so today's duel against Sileks, which will be played in Kratovo at 2:00 PM, represents an opportunity for a kind of playful and result-oriented rehabilitation after everything that has happened to the "red-black" camp in the past period.
It is more than clear that it will not be easy to achieve a positive result, as Sileks currently has a three-match unbeaten streak. On the contrary, Vardar awaits a serious challenge. However, Vardar would not be the leader and biggest favorite for the title if it did not have the capacity and quality to deal with such situations, and Goce Sedloski's chosen ones know that well.
Vardar currently has 52 points, one more than second-placed Shkendija, who play their home match of the 22nd round against the Brera team at the same time today. Sileks is in fourth place with 39 points.
