AP Brera ended the first part of the championship in seventh position with 19 points. Considering the poor start in the first few rounds, Strumica's players showed enviable quality and made several pleasant surprises.
The AP Brera team celebrated against Struga Trim Lum on the road, and managed to draw against the leader Vardar in Skopje. All this, coupled with several victories in front of their fans, lifted the team from the bottom to the middle of the table.
Martin Alagjozovski succeeded Pance Stojanov at the beginning of September and sat on the bench for the match against Shkupi. He managed to lift the team, which started to record much better results.
"After the bad start to the season, AP Brera managed to consolidate both on a club level in terms of minor financial problems, but also to reorganize the team. I must emphasize that many young players got a chance and took full advantage of it. We played several really high-quality matches and we should be proud of the triumph over Struga Trim Lum on the road, as well as the draw against Vardar in Skopje. Then the players realized that they can compete with the best, and that is exactly our philosophy, to try to play football against all the teams in the championship. Points are certainly a reward for good games. In the end, when we analyze, AP Brera can be satisfied with the current position in the table, considering the bad start, but we need to be even better in the spring, because the championship is long, and our goal is to achieve survival," said coach Martin Alagjozovski.
A refresh of the playing staff is also expected during the winter transfer window.
"Fahd Nzengue, the striker who was one of the mainstays of the game in the autumn part of the championship, will leave us. His contract is expiring and he has decided to seek a new challenge. Several more foreigners are leaving, but I believe that the management will bring in suitable replacements and new reinforcements, with which we will be competitive in all positions in the second part of the championship," said the head of the AP Brera coaching staff.
