Vardar defeated Rabotnički 1-0 in the 27th-round match in the First Football League. Stefan Cvetković scored the winning goal from a free kick in the 23rd minute of the match.
The city derby did not produce a blistering tempo, but the two teams nevertheless created enough chances for there to be more goals.
In the 12th minute, Azer Omeragić had an excellent chance, but his header went straight at Ondoa. Earlier, Vardar’s captain was inaccurate following a corner from the right.
Vardar took the lead in the 23rd minute. Stefan Cvetković took the free kick brilliantly and, with the help of the post, found the back of Rabotnički’s net.
In the 26th minute, Zakarić sent a powerful but inaccurate shot. Before the end of the first half, Zakarić threatened once more, while Rabotnički had a dangerous attempt through Suhel Muharem in the 33rd minute, but he was just off target.
In the second half, Zija Merdjani had Rabotnički’s best opportunity in the 52nd minute. After beating several players in a solo run down the left, he shot, but Davor Taleski saved his effort.
Omeragić and Zakarić also had chances to double the lead, but neither produced an accurate finish.
