The Macedonian U-21 national team will play its second match in the 2027 European Championship qualifiers tomorrow. The team of coach Goran Stanić will face the Italian team, one of the top favorites in our group, at 6:15 PM at the Petar Miloševski Stadium in Bitola.
After the defeat in Krakow to Poland, Stanić expects a completely different match.
"Poland is behind us, we have noticed the mistakes and we will do our best not to repeat them tomorrow against Italy. We also had a number of positive things from the match in Krakow. We were almost equal in possession of the ball, we lacked the last pass and finish, and we conceded the goals naively. One own goal, the second from a suspicious offside situation and the last from an individual error. The result is not a measure of the game," said the coach.
He added that the team is fully prepared for the new challenge.
"The players are ready for Italy. We have analyzed and the match plan has been made. Italy is a very different team from Poland. They play a different system, they are tactically at the top level, they have fast wings and we need to be very careful," said Stanić.
