The Macedonian U-16 national team defeated Montenegro 3:0 in the first friendly match played at the "Biljanini Izvori" stadium in Ohrid. Our youth team dominated the match, with goals scored by Velevski, Krstevski and Ristic.
The national team's coach, Ilami Isejni, expressed satisfaction with the performance, emphasizing that this generation of ours is promising and will progress in the period leading up to the qualifiers.
"We played a good game. We were combative and smart in our game throughout the entire match. We dominated against a team that is not naive at all, this is their first defeat in the last year. This generation of ours is promising, I have great confidence in the players. In the next period, we will try to increase the competition in the team, because only in this way will we improve our quality."
"These are test matches, I want to see them and give all the players a chance. The qualifications for this generation are next year. I am convinced that we will progress, I want players with character and we are building the team in that direction."
On August 21st at 11:00 AM, Macedonia and Montenegro will play the second friendly match in Ohrid.
