Surprise in Kavadarci: Simonovski secured Shkëndija Aračinovo’s first victory in the PMFL

Škendija Aračinovo recorded the first victory in its history in the Macedonian First Football League. The „red-and-blacks“ earned three valuable points away to Tikveš in Kavadarci, a team that had recorded two convincing wins at the start of the new First League season.

The winning goal was scored by Marko Simonovski in the 27th minute. From the left, Vildam Kerim delivered a cross, and from 6–7 metres, Simonovski headed past Stevkovski to give the visitors the lead.

Tikveš immediately tried to equalise, but failed to take several good chances before the end of the match. The most serious one fell to Wisdom in the 78th minute, when he found himself one-on-one with the visitors’ goalkeeper, but hit only the crossbar. Laval then also had an opportunity, but his shot was saved by Stolevski.

The Kavadarci side attacked fiercely in search of at least a point, but the visitors from Aračinovo held firm and secured their first victory—on the pitch of the best-performing team after the opening two rounds of the First League.
