The Football Federation of Macedonia informs the public that FK VARDAR’s request to postpone the Round 1 match in the First MFL for the 2026/2027 season has not been accepted.
The competition calendar for the First and Second MFL and the Macedonia Cup for the 2026/27 season has already been adopted by the FFM bodies and, due to the specific match schedule, it cannot be changed further.
In the new season, the First MFL will be played over 36 rounds, which requires precise planning and adherence to the calendar established in advance.
At the same time, the sporting aspect was also taken into consideration during its preparation, namely the principle of playing matches in a Thursday / Sunday / Thursday rhythm for clubs competing in European club competitions, a practice also applied in the majority of European national leagues.
The FFM reminds everyone that in the previous season, for the same reasons and in adherence to the principle of equal treatment, requests to postpone matches from a club competing in UEFA competitions were also not accepted.
Accordingly, the Round 1 match in the First MFL will be played according to the established calendar, on 25 July 2026.
