The Macedonian U-21 national team suffered its fourth defeat in the European Championship qualifiers, after being defeated by Sweden 1:4 (1:2) tonight in Bitola.
The young Macedonian players opened the match at the "Petar Miloševski" stadium excellently and took the lead with Elezi's goal after a nice action with Hamza, but then the Swedes completely took over the rhythm of the game. With two quick goals by Richi Omorova in the 32nd and 33rd minutes, the guests made a turnaround and went into halftime with a 1:2 advantage.
At the start of the second half, our performances were more offensive, but that did not bring results, on the contrary, Sonkovo increased the lead to 1:3 in the 60th minute and resolved all dilemmas. Until the end, Sweden skillfully controlled the match and with the goal of Amin Budri in the 79th minute set the final score to 1:4.
Goran Stanić's team remains second to last in Group E with three points, and in the next round they face a duel with the leader, the Polish national team.
