The Macedonian U-21 national team played to a goalless draw against Azerbaijan in the second friendly match played by our team during preparations in Belek, Antalya.
Coach Goran Stanić's team may regret not being able to secure a victory, given the large number of missed chances. Macedonia was better throughout the match, the opponent never seriously threatened after Vasilev's goal.
In the first half, Meliqi twice seriously threatened Azerbaijan's goal. The same player scored a goal in the 30th minute, but the referee disallowed it due to an attacking foul. Kire Stojanov found himself in a good situation in the 34th minute, but his shot was imprecise. In the 36th minute, Macedonia had another goal disallowed, this time due to offside. Dimitar Trajkov found himself in an illegal situation.
In the rest of the match, our young players continued to press and attack. The best chances in the second half came from Kire Stojanov and Adrian Zendelovski.
