The women’s U16 national team made a triumphant start to their campaign at the UEFA development tournament being held in Strumica.
Head coach Katerina Mileska’s side defeated San Marino 5:0.
Hristina Jordanova opened the scoring in the 30th minute of the match, which was played at the Goran Panev Training Centre.
Four minutes later, Jordanova found the net again to make it 2:0, while Tamara Atanasovska gave Macedonia a 3:0 lead in the penultimate minute of the first half.
Just three minutes into the second half, Anja Karanfilovska scored to make it 4:0, while Ana Marija Velevačkoska’s goal in the 69th minute set the final score at 5:0.
Macedonia will face Andorra in the second round. The match is scheduled for 8 May, with kick-off at 12:00, and will be played at the stadium in the Pandev complex.
