At the invitation of the president of the Football Federation of Macedonia, Masar Omeragić, UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin is paying an official visit to FFM today.
Joining the head of European football in the delegation are Zoran Laković, UEFA Director of National Associations, and Denis Bastari, UEFA Head of National Association Development.
FFM President Masar Omeragić emphasised the importance of the visit, with particular focus on the reforms and development of Macedonian football over the past period.
„The visit by Aleksander Čeferin is a true confirmation of our friendship and the sincere relationship we have with the UEFA leadership. It is particularly important for us that over the past year we have implemented serious reforms in several areas, from structural and organisational changes, through infrastructure improvements, to a clear strategy for the development of youth football. We shared valuable information about the state of football in Macedonia and the region and held open discussions on key issues. This support and understanding from UEFA is a strong incentive for us to continue with the reforms and develop Macedonian football to the highest possible level,“ said Masar Omeragić.
With knowledge, courage and determination, Aleksander Čeferin has led European football through major challenges in recent years, and we are all confident that he will continue, in the same way as before, to protect and develop European football. He has proven himself to be a person capable of simultaneously developing UEFA’s elite competitions commercially, from the Champions League to the European Championship, while also safeguarding the grassroots and investing in the development of football across Europe. We are proud of our federation’s excellent cooperation with UEFA, Omeragić emphasised.
As part of the visit to our country, UEFA President, Aleksander Čeferin, held a high-level meeting with representatives of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, with the Prime Minister Christian Mickoski and the Minister of Sport, Borko Ristovski, after which a working meeting will also be held at the „House of Football“.
