The Macedonian A national team will play against Wales tomorrow in the second round of the qualifying cycle for the 2026 World Cup. Head coach Blagoja Milevski and Stole Dimitrievski spoke at the official press conference.
Blagoja Milevski – head coach of the Macedonian A national team:
"Wells has been analyzed and I think we are ready, we need to be flawless tactically and in the racing part and of course we must be maximally focused if we want to hope for a positive result.
We are not favorites. According to the ranking and the quality of Wales, we are dealing with an opponent with extremely high-quality players. However, in sports, the favorites do not always win. It is up to us to be maximally prepared, and we will see how much we will succeed in achieving a positive result. Wales is perhaps the most serious opponent since I have been at the helm of the A-team. This is a compact selection, racing perfect, technically very advanced and we do not expect a serious test. Now we will play with a different opponent than on Saturday".
Stole Dimitrievski – Macedonian national team player:
"Before the match with Liechtenstein it was quite difficult because of the tragedy. After the events of the previous days it was difficult for me to sleep, because I was emotional after what I saw. Now what is coming to us, Macedonia and this people need love. We need to be united and all together, the whole people. At this moment nothing helps, so we can only give love. My message to the people is to be united.
Every time I came to press conferences we had a "clean sheet", let's make it like that against Wales. Let this be a new luck. I would like us to have another good match, we are working on it and we are ready. If we manage to defend ourselves we have at least a draw, and why not come to a victory".
