The Macedonian U-21 national football team suffered another defeat on their visit to Montenegro. This time, our hopes were dashed with a score of 3:2.
Coach Stanić's team led 0:1 at half-time, but in the second half the home team scored three goals in a relatively short period. This is Macedonia's third defeat after the opening matches against Poland and Italy, and we also have one triumph against Armenia at home.
Our first attempt at the opponent's goal was by Memetriza Hamza, who shot excellently with his left foot, but goalkeeper Radanović intervened. The corner kick that was taken then brought the lead. After a short play, it was Memetriza Hamza who crossed excellently, and Meliqi, on the top of the five-pointer, hit Radanović's right corner.
The home team tried twice, with shots from outside the penalty area, but also with a shot from close range, but Vasko Vassilev was excellent and reliable in the first half.
Our biggest chance for a double lead came after a double pass by Dashmir Elezi, who, from close range to Radanovic's goal, shot beautifully from the first, but the Montenegrin goalkeeper was up to the task this time.
On the opposite side, Vukanic was the last to threaten, but after an action from the left and an excellent pass to him, the Buducnost player shot over the goal.
In the 54th minute, Dimitar Trajkov tried from half-distance with his left foot, but Radanović was again sure. Something that cannot be said for our goalkeeper, Vasko Vasilev, who in the 56th minute, deflected the ball into his own box after Vukanic's shot from a turn, and the "nine" Perišić ran there and scored for 1:1.
After the home team equalized, Macedonia tried to take the lead again and moved to the home half. This allowed the home team to have space in our half for counterattacks, and one of them brought them the lead. Mrvaljevic took a great lead in our half, passed to Juković, who feinted and positioned himself on his right foot and shot undefended for 2:1.
That happened in the 68th minute, so that in the 73rd minute the home team had a 3:1 lead. Vuković crossed from the right, the ball reached Mrvaljević, and with the help of one of our players who hit the ball, he scored a goal to double the home team's lead.
Macedonia failed to come back into the game from this, although we had minimal chances at the end of the match. They were brought to us by Dimitar Trajkov, who scored a goal in the extra time. However, we did not have the strength to come back completely in terms of results.
