The Licensing Department of the Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM), within the framework of the program for support and education of clubs in the club licensing process, held a workshop on December 25, 2025 at the "House of Football" dedicated to the procedure for obtaining a license to participate in competitions organized by UEFA, as well as in national championship competitions (First MFL, Second MFL and First WFL).
The workshop was attended by the persons authorized by the clubs for the club licensing process, as well as the general secretaries of the clubs that will compete in European competitions and National Championship matches in the 2026/27 season.
The following topics were addressed within the working session:
Introduction to club licensing
Presentation of the basic principles and objectives of the club licensing system, as well as the importance of licenses for the long-term stability and development of clubs, with special emphasis on financial discipline, management and organizational structure.
Key licensing criteria
The participants were introduced in detail to the criteria that clubs must meet, namely: Sports criteria – club results, development of youth categories and participation in competitions; Infrastructure criteria – stadiums, conditions and safety standards; Administrative - personnel criteria – organizational set-up, transparency, engagement of trainers, doctors, physiotherapists and safety commissioners; Social responsibility criteria – strategies and policies for the protection and well-being of young people; Legal criteria – management processes and legal structure of clubs; Financial criteria – budget analysis, financial sustainability and transparency.
Application and screening process
The deadlines, key steps in submitting documentation and the method of implementing control and verification of compliance with the criteria in the licensing process were presented.
Communication with the Licensing Department
Special emphasis was placed on the importance of efficient and timely communication between clubs and the Licensing Department, as an essential factor for the successful implementation of the procedure, ensuring transparency and maintaining professional relationships at all stages of the process.
The workshop is part of the continuous activities of the FFM aimed at improving club operations and compliance with UEFA standards and national regulations.
