The women's national football team has begun preparations for the new cycle of matches in the World Cup qualifiers. Our team is part of League C, but it is expected that this team has a real chance of recording a result that would return us to a higher rank.
Coach Aleksandar Andov has in his squad players who were part of the under-17 and under-19 national teams, who in their categories were part of the elite qualifications for participation in the European Championships.
“"The team is made up of a large number of young players, but there are a few more experienced ones, and this is a team that will try to play at the highest level in every match and in both matches against Azerbaijan and Andorra will go for victory and gain significant points in the race to secure the best possible placement in the group," said goalkeeper Viktorija Panchurova.
Our first opponent in this cycle is the Azerbaijani national team.
“"Until now, we have not met the Azerbaijani national team. We are certainly in for an interesting and uncertain duel. In my opinion, individual qualities will decide and I hope that in the end we will achieve the desired victory," continued Panchurova.
She welcomed the move to rejuvenate the national team and believes that it will contribute to achieving far better results in the future.
“"I want to emphasize that the decision to include younger female players who have excellent results in the under-17 and under-19 categories was made. I believe that they will bring new, positive energy to the national team and that is why this team will start to record good results in the near future. These female players have a bright future ahead of them and I expect this team to play at a higher level from match to match. The more experienced players in this squad will give them maximum support and with our help, their progress will be noticeable after each appearance in the national team," concluded the national goalkeeper.
The match against Azerbaijan will be played on March 3, and the start of the match in Baku is scheduled for 12:00. Four days later, Macedonia will host the Andorran national team in Bitola, and the match will start at 15:00.
