As the end of the PMFL season approaches, the permutations in the battle for better positions are becoming increasingly prominent, with each side clearly knowing what it is aiming for. FK Pelister, as a top-flight club with a great tradition, is more than just a local brand, but this year it made a poor start to the season and has still not confirmed its survival in the elite division for next year.
Therefore, the objective of Bitola’s „green-and-whites“ is clear and unequivocal, while the results in the spring part of the season show that their campaign has been more successful than in the autumn part. After managing to remain unbeaten in the clashes with direct competitors Rabotnicki, and previously securing positive results against Vardar, Shkendija and Sileks, Pelister now welcomes Shkupi at home.
“Although Shkupi are playing with a young squad, our respect for this club with a great tradition and a large number of trophies must be at the appropriate level. We must not underestimate anyone, because their players fight until the very end and try to „make them pay dearly.“ Pelister prefers to get the job done by itself and not wait to see how the other matches will end. Accordingly, I always ask the players for the same thing: to play in a disciplined and committed manner, that is, to show their desire to win and their quality on the pitch, rather than with empty words. We must do our part, because survival in the PMFL will not happen unless we consistently earn points and take our chances. That is why I have repeatedly urged the players to motivate themselves properly and under no circumstances underestimate the opponent,“ said Marjan Sekulovski, head of Pelister’s coaching staff.
“We are aware that we are the favourites, but we have to show that on the pitch. We will enter the match fully motivated because it could bring us three important points. As in the match against Macedonia GP, we must be maximally motivated and demonstrate our status as favourites through our play,“ adds Gabriel Krstevski.
The match in Bitola will be played at the modernised „Petar Miloshevski“ Stadium, kicking off at 16:00. Two more matches will start at the same time: Shkendija – Struga and Vardar – Sileks.
