Shkëndija have made a perfect start to the season in the First Macedonian Football League after defeating Bregalnica 4-1 in the final match of the third round of the First Football League.
All five goals were scored in the second half, while Shkëndija coach Artim Polozhani credited the players for all the success.
„I would like to congratulate the players because they deserve the most credit for this triumph. It is not easy to win when you have played a tough match in Europe just three days earlier. However, we were organised, created chances and scored goals, even though the opponent spent most of the match waiting and playing in their own third of the pitch,“ said Artim Polozhani.
Bregalnica coach Nikola Kuzmanov was not satisfied with the result, but the reality is that his team were playing against a strong opponent.
„Shkëndija were the better team and we have to congratulate them. Perhaps a decision to award us a penalty would have changed something in the result at that moment, but overall we played within our capabilities. Nevertheless, in the first three rounds we have played against the two best teams in the league, Vardar and Shkëndija,“ Bregalnica’s coach stated.
