Tikvesh made an excellent start to the season in the First Macedonian Football League. A 5-1 triumph over Arsimi, followed by a 0-5 victory over Bashkimi. Ten goals scored and just one conceded for a firm first place in the standings.
Now the people of Kavadarci face a new challenge against Shkëndija Arachinovo. Tikvesh want to extend their winning streak, claim a third victory and show that this season they have ambitions to fight for the upper part of the table.
„We made a good start to the season, and I expect this run to continue today. We are playing at home and, naturally, the expectation is to take three points. Although Shkëndija are newcomers to the top flight, they have a quality squad, but I hope we can secure a victory. This team showed in the first two rounds that it has quality, and we want to fight for the upper part of the table, and possibly even for one of the places leading to Europe,“ said Popzlatanov.
Tikvesh’s right-back said that Tikvesh approach every match with the utmost respect for their opponents.
„We will not underestimate anyone, including Shkëndija Arachinovo, but the three points at home are a must. With the help of our supporters, we will go for another triumph and make our fans happy today as well,“ Pozlatanov added.
The match between Tikvesh and Shkëndija Arachinovo will be played at the city stadium in Kavadarci, starting at 16:30.
