Sedloski: We are preparing for the new cycle; it is up to the footballers whether they will be with us

Macedonia national football team head coach Goce Sedloski spoke at a press conference about the squad announced for the friendly matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Türkiye, which will be played during this window.

Sedloski stressed that two matches against strong teams lie ahead of us, and that there are objective problems due to injuries and withdrawals at the end of the season. Therefore, footballers from the Macedonian league have also been called up, in order to confirm the potential and quality of the new names ahead of the challenges in the Nations League.

„It depends on each footballer whether he will be with us here. I wish them all good health, to play regularly and earn the call-up to represent Macedonia,“ Sedloski said.

He stressed that all the called-up players will get a chance, and paid particular attention to the debutants:

„It is up to them to prove themselves. The new players are regular starters for their clubs. It depends on them how they fit into our system alongside the footballers who have been in the national team for a longer period,“ the head coach added“.

„All the players called up here will get a chance; it is up to them to prove themselves. We agreed with Bosnia and Herzegovina head coach Sergej Barbarez to make more substitutions, so that we can also make 11 changes in the second half.“.

On 29 May, the Macedonia internationals will visit Sarajevo to face Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Asim Ferhatović Hase Stadium, while on 1 June they will play Türkiye in Istanbul at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium, with kick-off at 19:30.
