In front of the "House of Football", in the presence of the referees, the VAR project team, replay operators and FIFA educators, the certificates for the first generation of VAR referees in Macedonia were solemnly awarded.
The process lasted several months, with intensive training, practical work and simulations, and culminated in a series of test matches with the real application of the VAR system.
Dejan Jakimovski, project leader for the implementation of the VAR system, and the Secretary General of the FFM, Leonid Jandreoski, delivered welcoming remarks.
"This is not just an administrative process, but the result of months of hard work and true dedication. I want to express my great gratitude to everyone who was part of this process, especially to our judges, who accepted a new challenge and showed that we are ready for the next level."
Sincere gratitude to the FIFA instructors for their expertise and selflessness, as well as to our partners, the operators who were key in the technical support for the functioning of the VAR system. Many thanks also to the Macedonian Radio Television for their technical support and coordination, as well as to the FFM refereeing organization, which made a great contribution to the entire process and led the work on the field. And, of course, to the FFM president who stood behind the project from the very beginning and gave full support to get us here.
We are not just awarding certificates, we are building trust in the system and taking a big step forward for our football.", the Secretary General of the FFM emphasized in his address.
Symbolically, the certificates were presented to them by football greats Goran Pandev, Ilija Najdoski, Agim Ibraimi and Gjorgi Hristov.
