After the heavy defeat to Vardar, Shkupi’s players are already focused on the next challenge. Today, as part of the 29th round of the First League, they visit Arsimi in Gostivar. While the hosts are under pressure to earn points in their fight for survival, Shkupi enter this duel with a strong desire to finally record their first league victory against this opponent. Shkupi’s young footballer Endrit Akiku said before the match that the team is fully motivated regardless of the circumstances.
„It does not matter whether we play with young or experienced footballers. We are Shkupi and we enter every match with the aim of giving our maximum. We are not afraid of anyone. We are here to defend the club’s colours until the very last second. We expect a fair game and will fight for a positive result,“ Akiku said.
Arsimi have proved to be an „awkward“ opponent for Shkupi this season, dominating their previous encounters in the First League, with Arsimi winning both matches (4-2 and 3-0).
Arsimi won the last friendly match (1-0), while Shkupi’s only triumph dates back to the friendly played on 23 March 2024 (3-1).
The match between Arsimi and Shkupi will be played today (Friday, 24 April) at the stadium in Gostivar, kicking off at 12:00.
