Stankovski: The national team is making steady progress, the players are ready for new challenges

The Macedonian U-15 national team was the last to have commitments this year. The team of coach Goran Stankovski had two strong tests against the Turkish national team in the past few days, and in both encounters our football hopes had half-hearted success.

In the first match, Stankovski's team won 3:2, while in the second, the guests won 1:0.

"I am satisfied with the performance in both matches, primarily due to the fact that we had an exceptionally high-quality opponent. The Turkish national team had as many as seven players who play for clubs that are part of the Bundesliga, while our team had only one international. I want to congratulate the players and I believe that we were a worthy opponent to a strong team like Turkey," said Stankovski.

During 2025, you had many activities, a large number of test matches were played, which is of great importance in profiling the squad that should be included in the UEFA competition system in the near future.

"It is clear that all matches are of exceptional importance. Each of them has gained immense experience through these matches and what pleases me the most is the fact that this generation is constantly progressing, and this was especially visible in these two matches with Turkey," continued the leader of the national under-15 team.

This generation still has twelve months before entering the qualification system when the real challenges begin for them. There is enough time to gain additional experience and calmly enter the competitive system. What are the plans for 2026?

"We continue with our activities, we work every day and we are together during the working week. That is why the teamwork of the team is noticeable and that is why we will work at the same pace, all with the aim of constantly raising the level of quality. We have already agreed on several control matches for next year, and we are in negotiations for additional matches. Our primary goal is for this squad to gain additional experience and prepare as best as possible for the qualifying matches", concluded Stankovski.
