The Refereeing Commission of the Football Federation of Macedonia is reacting to Jeton Beqiri's statement after the Struga Trim Lum - Shkendija match, in which the coach of the Tetovo club accused him of double standards in the use of the VAR system.
Reaction from the Refereeing Committee within the FFM:
"When the VAR system annulled goals by Bashkimi and Struga Trim Lum against Shkendija, it was good. But when the decision is not in your club's favor, it immediately becomes a problem. These are classic alibi statements, the greatest evil in football. Coaches who hide their ignorance and incompetence behind the VAR system do not bring anything good to their team or to Macedonian football.
The Refereeing Commission reminds that it was Bashkimi and Struga Trim Lum who accepted the decisions made using the VAR system with dignity, without creating an alibi and without unnecessary messages to the referees. Only Jeton Beqiri is trying to shift blame and send alibi messages through media appearances. We emphasize that the penalty awarded to Struga Trim Lum in the match with Shkendija is clean and the decision is correct.
We emphasize that the VAR system operates exclusively according to international protocols and the same criteria for all clubs, with no room for double standards.
We invite the great expert, Jeton Beqiri, to the FFM VAR center, in person, before the entire refereeing committee to verify the process, and then let him 'spit' on the facts."VAR has no double standards, only professionalism and objectivity, something that in the recent past was just an alibi for ignorance and suspicion."
