The two rivals in today’s clash in Kumanovo had completely different starts to the season. Bashkimi enter the match against Tikvesh „wounded“ after conceding six goals against Sileks in Kratovo, while the Kavadarci side began the new season with a convincing 5-1 triumph over Arsimi.
Despite being considered the big favourites in today’s match, Tikvesh approach their opponents with maximum respect, without underestimating them in their attempt to secure another league victory.
„We need to be careful. After that first round, which ended well for us and badly for Bashkimi, we must not let it deceive us too much, because the opening matches are not always an indication of how the season will unfold. In any case, we naturally respect them, but we have our own ambitions, which are to win as many points as possible at the start of the season in order to achieve a good position at the end,“ said Aleksandar Varelovski, captain of the Tikvesh team.
The Bashkimi–Tikvesh match will be played today at Bashkimi Stadium in Kumanovo, kicking off at 17:00.
