Vardar defeated Bashkimi 2:0 away from home, continuing their winning run in the closing stages of the championship.
“The Red and Blacks” took the lead early and were ahead 1:0 after just eight minutes. Goran Zakarić capitalized on Stefan Cvetković’s cross to give Vardar the much-desired early lead away in Gostivar.
A few minutes later, Zakarić could have found the net again, but his attempt was saved by the home goalkeeper Amir Jašar.
Vardar captain Azer Omeragić also had a chance to score, but this time his shot went wide of Bashkimi’s goal.
In the second minute of stoppage time, Boban Nikolov shot toward Jašar’s goal, but as Borjan Panovski made his challenge, the Bashkimi defender changed the ball’s direction and it ended up in the Kumanovo side’s net.
In the second half, Bashkimi could have scored the only goal of the match through Ronaldo Nikel Or, while Zakarić had the best chance of the period, with his shot hitting the crossbar.
In the closing stages, Dimitar Todorovski could have scored Vardar’s third goal, but this time goalkeeper Jašar reacted well.
