What was once a celebration of football in the capital has currently been turned into an ordinary obligation which, according to the rules and regulations, must simply be fulfilled.
Today, from 13:00, at the Petar Miloshevski Training Centre in Skopje, Shkupi will host Vardar.
Shkupi are already a second-division side, and there are no dilemmas about that, while their inability to complete their top-flight matches at their stadium in Chair forces the club to seek a solution to this problem every weekend.
This time, FFM is accommodating them, and the once-great city derby will be played on these pitches.
Vardar are the big favourites; the league leaders simply have to win this match, as do most of Shkupi’s rivals this season.
The battle for the title is only now set to intensify, and there will be more uncertain duels. Vardar will try to register another three points today, so that the status quo with regard to second-placed Shkendija remains after this round as well.
