Vardar need one more point to mathematically secure the PMFL title. The „Red and Blacks“ defeated Sileks 2-1 at home today, but Shkendija’s victory over Struga TL delayed the championship celebrations.
Vardar thoroughly deserved to win this match. They led 2-0, after which Sileks pulled one back to make it 2-1, and Goce Sedloski’s charges then had several more good chances. However, it could easily have happened that the Kratovo side left Skopje with a point.
The league leaders took the lead quickly, at the beginning of the third minute. Cvetkovic played a long ball to Zakarić, who broke down the right and sent the ball into the six-yard box, where Cvetkovic managed to find the net past Dzekov.

Vardar doubled their lead in the 17th minute with a penalty. Buturović fouled Omeragić, resulting in a spot-kick, which Zakarić converted confidently.
Sileks then „woke up“ and created three chances, but there was no change to the score before the break.
However, Sileks managed to pull one back in the 53rd minute. Following a corner, the ball flew over everyone and reached Buturović. The Sileks centre-back had time to set himself and place it into the top corner of Talесki’s goal, leaving the goalkeeper helpless.

In the 55th minute, Sileks could have „shocked“ Vardar, but Mirchevski failed to convert a great chance, or rather, Taleski made an excellent save to deny his shot.
Vardar then enjoyed a spell in which they had chances to score a third goal. In the 61st minute, Spahiu hit the net from an excellent position, but only from the outside. Zakarić then found himself in an opportunity, but Dzekov saved his shot. The Sileks goalkeeper made a huge mistake in the 84th minute when he „gifted“ the ball to Nikolov, who attempted a lob but sent it just wide.

Vardar will now need just one point in their next away match against Struga TL to officially become the new champions.
